Baykan Aksu MSc, P.Geo.

Geologist

Baykan has over 5 years of diverse experience as a geoscientist working in various industries including oil & gas, geothermal and mineral exploration. He is currently registered as a Professional Geologist (P.Geo.) with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA). Before moving to Canada, he dedicated three years to geothermal exploration in Western Anatolia, Turkey.

In 2019, he earned his first M.Sc., focusing on the structural controls of the Kizildere Geothermal field in Turkey. Following this, he pursued a second M.Sc. at the University of Alberta, graduating in 2021. His research centered on using fluid inclusions as an exploration tool in orogenic gold deposits within the Yellowknife Gold Belt. Baykan joined Apex in 2021 and presently focuses on the exploration of alkalic and calc-alkalic porphyry Cu-Au-Mo deposits in South-Central British Columbia. Baykan worked as a wellsite geologist, having contributed to oil and gas, as well as geothermal drill programs. He has expertise as an economic geologist in mineral exploration.
