Ryan Golby

Project Geologist

Ryan graduated with a diploma from the Northern Albertan Institute of Technology (NAIT) in 1997 as a Mineral Engineering Technologist (Now Geological Technologist).  He is a geotechnologist with twenty-plus years of experience in well-site geology. His duties consisted of well site supervision, assisting in the landing of build sections by supplying targets for drillers, overseeing the running of wireline logs and preliminary field interpretation, and selecting geologists to work primarily horizontal drilling for CBM, Shale gas, and oil wells. Ryan has been involved in drilling deep basin clastic horizontal wells with foothills structure influence.

Since joining APEX in 2021, Ryan has overseen the day-to-day operation of the Lawyers-Ranch project in Northern BC. He is involved in project management, on-site logistical support and budgeting, as well as training on-site personnel in power mobile equipment (PME) and off-highway vehicle (OHV) safety courses.
